Trench Coat Mafia

If we ever catch a break from Old Man Winter, maybe we can get out of these heavy parkas and into some light and stylish trench coats. Having always been a staple in the world of fashion, every year it seems that designers always finding a way to reinvent the classic coat. One of my favorites that came to mind was the Garbardine Biker Trench Coat from Burberry. I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE this coat because of how the leather sleeves give it a tough approach. In my list I including some spurge-worthy coats and some that won't kill your wallet. For those of you that already have a trench, here are some easy ideas to revamp your style:
  1. Add new buttons. Stop by your local arts & craft store and pick up some cool buttons. It's cheaper then buying a new coat and it'll give you a chance to personalize your old one.
  2. Switch out the belt. With neon brights being a trend for spring, find a cool neon belt to pair with your neutral colored coat to create instant satisfaction.
  3. Add some quirkiness. Adding a cool trim to the lapels and collar will add some fun to the traditional look.
  4. Pop in a brooch. Take a trip to your mother's closet and "borrow" some pins or brooches. I love a brooch with a little bit of sparkle to add some extra shine.
Enjoy!
