What to Wear {Made in America}

Headed to Made in America this weekend? It's going to be hot, so remember to dress comfortable and cool.

  • I recommend a flowy loose top like this one from Free People. It even has splits in the back for more movement while dancing.
  • These shorts don't really need much of an explanation, like I said it'll be hot.
  • Boohoo has a few awesome booties perfect for jumping around in the dirt and shakin' it like Beyonce.
  • Hair accessories are a big trend, but not just a jeweled clip, instead try hair necklaces like this one from Forever 21.
  • Lastly, you'll need something to carry your stuff in. A crossbody bag makes a great option because it allows you to be hands free.
I'll be out and about enjoying the concert and looking for the best dressed in the crowd. So make sure you're follow us on social media under the username @fashionofphilly. We'll be sharing the latest and a glimpse at what happening behind the scenes. See you there!

Tuesday is September 1st and even though it may seem a little early to begin changing over your closets, you may not be able to help admiring some of the looks for the season. South Moon Under recently released their Fall 2015 Lookbook and I picked out a few of my favorite looks.

Philadelphia Fashion Week begins Monday, August 31 and there'll be tons of fashionable events to look forward to. One of those events is happening at Macy's Center City on Thursday, September 3 at 5pm. She’s also been featured on America’s Next Top Model, Project Runway, and She’s Got the LookFern Mallis will be honored by Kevin Parker, on behalf of Philadelphia Fashion Week, and Nicole Fischellis, on behalf of Macy’s.

Even though summertime is almost over, there's still plenty to do at the Jersey Shore. Over the weekend, we were invited to experience TRUCKerton, a food truck and brew fest in Tuckerton, NJ. The event was held at the Tuckerton Seaport, which was buzzing with marine activity and wildlife. There were over a dozen food trucks present with delicious bites, plenty of things for the kids to learn and do, live music, plus local beer and wine vendors.

5 Fall/Back to School Beauty Buys

Wether you're preparing for back to school or the beginning of the Fall season. Here are a few things you might want pick up to start this autumn with a beauty bang!

“I participated in an Influencer Activation on behalf of Influence Central for Carter’s. I received a complimentary gift card to facilitate my review and thank me for my participation.”

It's almost time for back-to-school which means it's time to stock up on new fall styles. Our son Darius will be heading to the 2nd grade, which is so crazy to me! It seems like we were just celebrating his first day in Kindergarten yesterday. Of course, my favorite thing about back-to-school season is the shopping. From finding the ultimate book bag to new clothes, I feel like it's a great time for us to bond and get to know more about his little but sometimes over-the-top, personality and sense of style.

Eat. Sleep. Blog. Repeat. That pretty much describes what I do. That's also what inspired me to design this customizable tank on Zazzle.com. Their tanks are really soft, comfortable, and stretchy. I love wearing tanks because you can wear them in many different ways whether it be alone in the summer or layered with a blazer or cardigan in the fall. My tee shirt is now available to order on my Zazzle store and I'm thinking of creating more very soon.

L'occitane x GlamSquad

Our friends over at L'occitane are teaming up with the Glamsquad to celebrate natural beauty. They trained their fleet of artist and supplied them with their great skincare products and now they're hosting two amazing giveaways. The first is a full-expenses paid trip to the South of France, and the second a social contest for a chance to win a $200 L’Occitane shopping spree and free GLAMSQUAD makeover!

So lately I've been giving Proactiv Solutions Three-Step Treatment a try. The kit includes the Renewing Cleanser, Revitalizing Toner, and Repairing Treatment. Honestly, before using Proactive my skin has been pretty chill, no harsh breakouts, not too oily, so I wasn't sure what the treatment would do for my skin.

Embrace your personalize style and show it off with accessories from Chloe + Isabel's August Collection. This collection invites you to mix and match pieces to create a personal statement. From necklaces perfect for layering to initial earrings the possibilities are endless.

This weekend I went to the Cherry Hill Mall and did a lil' shopping. One of my new favorite stores to check out is the e.l.f. boutique. (Yep there's a whole store full of e.l.f. products) The first time I seen one was in NYC and I was hurry to a meeting so there was no time to stop and shop.

If you're looking for a new fragrance for back to school or just looking for something new for fall, Scentbird is here to help. Scentbird is a fragrance subscription service that allows you to try a 30 day supply of a designer fragrance of your choice every month for only $14.95. With the help of their scent survey, I narrowed it down to Flora by Gucci. It's a great fragrance with hints of tuberose, peach, and rose.
