Skincare Review: Proactiv

So lately I've been giving Proactiv Solutions Three-Step Treatment a try. The kit includes the Renewing Cleanser, Revitalizing Toner, and Repairing Treatment. Honestly, before using Proactive my skin has been pretty chill, no harsh breakouts, not too oily, so I wasn't sure what the treatment would do for my skin.

Well after about 7 to 10 days of using it, my skin actually felt really dry and in some spots very irritated. I believe this is due to the cleanser which contains micro beads and benzoyl peroxide, which is the leading ingredient in fighting acne, but since my skin isn't very oily I don't think it helped much. Most of the irritation was around my nose and close to my eye area where the skin is more delicate. On the other hand, I enjoyed using the toner which helped remove any remaining traces of makeup and dirt.

My advice, if you suffer from bad acne or oily skin, the Proactiv Three-Step Treatment will probably work better for you than it did for me. The benzoyl peroxide just seems a little to strong for my skin for everyday use. For more information on Proactiv and other acne fighting treatments, start by reading this review.
