What on Earth???

in , , , , , by Brittiny Stewart, 12:11 AM
Earth Day is Friday, April, 22, a day when we reflect on how wasteful we are, use words like footprint, and look for some of our favorite retailers to offer eco-friendly specials and goodies, which somehow just makes us just buy more stuff. And as much as I always want to remember to take those free recyclable tote bags everyone's been handing out to the grocery store instead of being loaded up with more plastic bags, I always forget. Well however you do to help save the green planet here's a little list of easy things you can do and what some retailers are doing to make us not feel so bad. Enjoy!

Target - Speaking of those free tote bags, Target will be handing out one for every purchase on Earth Day!
Exchange Party - Invite some friends over to exchange your unwanted, gently worn clothes and accessories. It doesn't have to be anything super fancy. Order a pizza or have everyone bring a dish, pop in some cd's and let the free for all begin! One girl's trash is another girl's outfit.
Starbucks - Visit Starbucks will be giving out free coffee or tea when you bring in a reusable mug or travel cup. Check out the cool video below. Also stop by your local Starbucks to find out how to volunteer for Earth Day Events in your community. For more info go to

Payless - The Zoe & Zac Collection at Payless will be launching a line of affordable, eco-friendly accessories they call "Fresh Green Fashion" including shoes and handbags priced under $30. Also from now til July, purchase their reusable shopping bag made from 50% recycled polyethylene or PET (the stuff plastic bottles are made with) and Payless will contribute $1 to plant a tree to the Nature Conservancy's Plant a Billion Trees Campaign to help rebuild Brazil's Atlantic Forest.

Origins- Bring in your empty plastic cosmetic bottles (shampoo, lotion, etc) and get one of the best selling paraben free cleansers! Just go to, fill out the form and bring it in to your local Origins store.

If you know of any other Fashionable Events and Specials, don't be selfish, leave a comment.

What's a more perfect way to celebrate a beautiful day than with neon, bright colors. Thanks to Forever 21, a best friend of many fashion lovers, I found this Electric Blue Strapless Maxi Dress (which I used as a skirt) and this highlighter yellow knit top. So comfortable. So affordable. So cute.

Knit Top - Forever 21
Black Tank - MetroPark
Skirt - Forever 21
Sunglasses- Forever 21

Stylist of the Month - March

in , by Brittiny Stewart, 1:33 AM

Tell us a little about yourself.

My name is Bridget Marowski and I am 22 years young. Recently, I graduated from college with a degree in Spanish Education. Throughout my entire life I have loved clothing and dressing up, but in college things took a turn toward a fashion frenzy. I became obsessed with fashion and style. I suddenly needed to have my hands on every fashion magazine and spend hours obsessing over what I and my friends were wearing. Recently, I enrolled in a Fashion Styling program. I am currently working toward my certificate and keeping my blog updated regularly. Besides fashion I love reading, cooking, and traveling. I live with my boyfriend, Michael, in Kennett Square, Pennsylvania.

How would you describe your personal style?

I would say my personal style is very eclectic/eccentric. I tend to wear very vivid colors and prints and mix and match them with others. I very rarely wear jeans or pants. I live in leggings, tights, skirts, and dresses. I am a very savvy shopper often finding the dream piece for little to nothing. I am also a huge fan of the Goodwill and vintage stores. I am asked the most about my Goodwill pieces; they are great conversation starters. As for jewelry, you will often see me with kooky rings and other pieces, such as an airplane ring or a dead fish skeleton ring.

Where do you find your inspiration?

I find inspiration in what surrounds me. I love being in Philadelphia and New York to see great street style. For me it is real people that are the most inspirational. There are plenty of websites to view street style such as The Sartorialist, Garance Doré, and Face Hunter. I also find inspiration from nature, especially for colors and prints.

Where are your top 3 places to shop?

My top three places to shop are H&M, Zara, and Forever 21.

Who is your favorite fashion photographer?
I am head over heels for Scott Schuman, The Sartorialist. I love the way he photographs real people on the streets. Not only does he photograph fashionistas, but he also captures the spirits of many other people including construction workers, the elderly, and even Mennonite children from our own Pennsylvania. He finds beauty and intrigue all around him and is a true inspiration to someone like me.

    What is your favorite color?

My favorite color is purple and lime green is a close second.

Where would you love to be your next travel destination?

I am just dying to go to London. I have been to Italy and Paris. I have studied abroad in Mexico. There is just something different about London; its style is so raw and edgy. I am hoping to take a trip there during the 2012 Olympic Games.

    Do you collect anything special?

I collect vintage pieces, like furs and jewelry. I know fur is extremely controversial but I will admit that it is my vice. I have a few hats and capes and am looking to acquire more. I would never buy it brand new; I suppose that alleviates my guilt. I have a large collection of vintage jewelry from various stores and the collection of my mother who passed away in May of 2009. She was a beautiful woman with beautiful taste which I display proudly when I wear her jewelry. It’s like I keep a small piece of her with me at all times.
