After seeing Rihanna's Instagram pics of her modeling looks from the Balmain Spring/Summer 2014 Collection, I needed to see more! The campaign gives me the feeling of a glam princess mixed with dash of late 80's, early 90's hip hop. Thick gold chains, over-sized cardigans with matching skirts and luxe overalls were just some of my favorite things about the collection. On the other hand, I'm still very interested in seeing how the people of everyday life will interpret such outfits. Overalls are something I've haven't worn since hmm... middle school or maybe even grade school. Yeah, I remember that look, with the one strap disconnected hanging off to the side. The questions is: Should I revisit that trend? You how the saying goes, "Never repeat the same trend". But who says it has to be repeated in the same way? Maybe this time I'll keep both straps snapped the right way, pair it with a crisp white button down and add some fun heels. Enjoy Your Weekend!

SuperBowl Sunday is this weekend and even though Eagles fans aren't jumping for joy, a good football game is always entertaining. So what do you wear when you don't know who to root for? A shirt that shows how much you love Sundays, of course. This one is from Peace Love World and is made of incredibly soft Pima cotton.

Even in this modern day and age, I find myself still wanting to write everything down. I just feel like it sticks better in my brain if I joint something down on paper. Yes, I do type up a few notes on the iPad or iPhone every now and then, but I also have tons of notebooks, notepads, and journals floating around the room. It's just something about having your thoughts on a hardcopy. You won't find them deleted by accident, corrupted, or unable to come up due to a dead battery. That's why I'm happy I have this new notebook from Leuchtturm1917 for the new year. If there's one thing this brand knows how to do, it's how to design a beautiful journal. Since 1917, Leuchtturm1917 has been the leader in high-quality stationary and has included features like rounded corners, non-bleeding paper, an attachable pen holder, and adhesive labels to name a few. Now their product assortments include everything from address books to iPad covers. Not only do their products make great gift ideas, but if you're a blogger or in any other creative field, it's a wonderful professional tool to have.

So if you watched the Grammy's Red Carpet Coverage or seen any Red Carpet footage, you may have seen Katy Perry's Valentino music note gown. On twitter the dress received mixed reviews, but I thought it was perfectly fitting for the Grammy's plus it showed off her personality. Weather you loved it or hated it, it inspired me to create this week's Celeb Look 4 Less. Who made your best dressed list?

Happy Friday Everyone! This year, I want to start getting back to the things I love to blog about. Not what's popular, not what #trending, but things that catch my eye and make me excited about fashion and beauty. One of those things would be discovering new designer collections. This collection from Faith Connexion is amazing!

In my last few attempts to travel to New York, including this past Tuesday, it's been a major snowstorm! But this day was slightly different. The forecast still called for snow, but the kind that just blew around and looked pretty. Since it was still cold, I decided to layer up starting with a simple black cami, a plaid flannel shirt from H&M, and an OBEY sweatshirt. I love having a good pair of dark black jeans. I don't know about anyone else, but as soon as my black pants, jeans, or shirts start to fade, they're deemed useless. I have one plain long sleeve black shirt from Express that has truly lasted the test of time going through plenty of washes and never losing its color.

Last week, we were invited to visit the H&M showroom in NYC to view the collection of 25 year old, Jia Hua, one of the eight finalists in the running for the H&M Design Award. Hua is the first design student from the U.S. to ever be included in the Design Awards and is a finalist for the People's Prize.

Celeb Look For Less: Kate Bosworth

For today's Look 4 Less, we're borrowing from the boys to achieve this laid back look from Kate Bosworth. Sometimes to find that perfect over-sized piece, we have to take a look at the guys department and the bonus is when you find it on sale. I found this flannel button down shirt on for only $9.99! Did you see last week's Kim Kardashian inspired Look 4 Less? Peep it here!

Welcome to another issue of the Lash Diaries. Today, I will be talking about my experience with Ardell lashes. I found them at Walgreens on sale for about $2.99, but they are pretty popular so you can find them at a lot of other drugstores and superstores like Target and WalMart. One thing I didn't realize when I brought the lashes is that they didn't come with their own glue. So I relied on my trusty EcoTools lash glue which worked great.

EcoTools Naturally Beautiful Lash System $5.99
Some time ago, I received a package from containing some new products including lashes from EcoTools. Since this is a eco-friendly beauty brand, these lashes are safe and good for wearing everyday. They're hypo-allergenic, dermatologist tested, clinically tested, latex-free, formaldehyde-free, paraben and phthalate-free. The first thing I noticed, is how natural their lashes appeared. So after much hesitation thanks to my experience from the NYX lashes, I decided to give them a try.

Every New Year, many people talk about cleaning up their eating habits, straightening out their lifestyle or something of that nature, but what about your closet? Even if our closet doesn't look like the one above, I'm sure you've accumulating tons of fashionable pieces over time, but what about those items that have been collecting dust? Why not turn those designer items into cash? No, I'm not talking about Ebay or scary craigslist? I'm talking, a just launched online retailer that specializes in the pre-owned market. concierges buy authentic designer items like handbags, shoes, jewelry and accessories, women's apparel and men's fashions for straight up cash! Not like some of the other re-sale boutiques, where you have to wait until your item sells to see a penny. Your merchandise is evaluated and authenticated up front and pays 50% of the item's value outright!

In October , we were invited to the Agentry PR Showroom in New York City to get a sneak peek at a few Ready-to-Wear Collections for Spring/Summer 2014! It was so nice to get excited about spring fashion before winter reared its ugly head. We discovered some new favs and fell in love again with some we've known from before and now I want to share them with you.

As many shoe addicts know the kitty flat is a staple with Charlotte Olympia, but what if you don't have the funds to cough up that $595? Well here's an alternative pair from that's purr-fect! (I just couldn't help it.) The shoes are very similar in style, but the main difference I can notice online is the Charlotte Olympia shoe seems slightly more narrow. Also as expected the Charlotte Olympia pair has a leather upper and sole making it better in quality and durability, but if you're not looking to wear a pair of kitty flats that long, then why not save yourself $500.

Back in April of last year, I picked up two sets of NYX lashes in styles 112-Secret and 113-Review. These are the first lashes I've ever purchased and I think it was more of an impulse buy then anything because I found them surprisingly at PacSun on sale for $2.99 each. When I first tried to apply the lashes, it was no good. The glue was very difficult to work with, in my opinion, so I just gave them a rest and said maybe another time. I finally came back around to using these lashes sometime in November/December after purchasing a different type of glue, but you'll have to come back next week to find out which one I prefer.

Pros: NYX lashes can be found in tons of locations and you can usually find them on sale. They're available in both natural and synthetic hair lashes and if you're interested in ordering online, you can sign up for emails and receive coupons.

Cons: The glue is horrible. Applying it from the tube is difficult and if you're a beginner like me, it's not that easy of an adhesive to work with.

My overall review: NYX lashes are fun and look natural when applied correctly. I like the variety of styles available, but I would suggest using a different glue.

Have you tried NYX lashes? What was your first impression?

So lately I've been trying out more and more beauty ideas and techniques.  One of those things I've been playing around with is false lashes. I've been experimenting with different brands, shapes, and textures and would like to share my journey with you. Look at it as a beauty mini-series. Every Monday in January, I'll be sharing my favorite and not so favorite things about lashes. There may even be a beauty tutorial on our YouTube channel. Let me know if you enjoy it and if you have a beauty product you would like to see explored for next month or any suggestions you would like to see me try out for this month.

Even though some of us may have vowed to eat healthy and exercise regularly, who are we kidding? We love our sweets, desserts, and things that probably aren't good for us, but I found something that, believe it or not, has made me break my ice cream addiction. Delicious Frozen Yogurt, but not just any kind, Foxy's Premium Frozen Yogurt makes yummy favors that'll truly satisfy your sweet tooth!

If one of your new year's goals is to get in better shape, adding some cute, but affordable pieces to your wardrobe can give you a boost of motivation. One of my favorite retailers, H&M, has launched their new Sport Collection with activewear for the whole family. The collection is designed with the input from world-class professional athletes from the Swedish Olympic team without out sacrificing the style we love. So what do you think? Would you get fit with H&M Sport?

It's 2014!

Hey all! It's a new year and some of you may have put together some goals, ideas, and/or thoughts to live by going forward! Here at Fashion of Philly, we also have a few thing we would like to put into motion. My advice, do it in moderation. You may have tons you want to accomplish, but don't kill yourself or you'll burn out and quit all together. Make a plan, stay organized, and stay positive! These are three things I'm trying to stick to myself. It's so easy to sit back and complain, but the only person that can fix your situation is you. Remember: We're all given 24 hours in a day, it's just depends on how you use it! As always, I wish you all the best and I can't wait to see what we can get done in 2014!
