Things I Love: Cowhide Accents

Recently, I've discovered a love for cowhide rugs. I think it might have something to do with the home decor shopping I've been doing lately with my sisters. It's not so much that I'm into animal skins or animal print, but I love the thought of having a pinch of rustic in a not so country setting. For those not into animal skins, I've even found a faux fur cowhide pillow (not pictured) that would make a great statement on anyone's couch.

What's in my Gym Bag?

Last weekend, I tried my first Lithe Method class at their Rittenhouse Studio. It was a fun, total body workout that definitely gets your heart pumping. I brought along with me a few things to freshen myself up afterwards in a leather sling backpack that I got while thirfting.

The Beauty Diaries: eye+ by SkinOwl

SkinOwl eye+ Review

I haven't used too many eye creams in my life, but I know that the beauty gurus say to avoid wrinkles even longer, you should start using age defying makeup/treatments while you're in your 20's. Since I have a couple years left, I started using eye+ by SkinOwl. This stimulating eye concentrate is made with Hyaluronic Acid, periwinkle, and licorice to help firm the delicate skin around your eyes for a bright and healthy look. Of course, you'll also find familiar ingredients like cucumber and aloe for an amazing and instant cooling effect.

The Beauty Diaries: derma|e

With the temperatures plugging into the single digits, it's time to break out the hardcore skincare. Lately I've been loving my derma|e Vitamin E Intensive Therapy Body Balm. As soon as I jump out the shower, I make sure I moisturize my skin from head to toe with this super hydrating body cream. The derma|e skincare line is not only good for you, but the environment also. It's free of all the bad stuff like paraben, gluten, GMO, phthalate, petrolatum, and lanolin. On the other hand it's full of the good stuff like Vitamin E, Cranberry Seed and Red Palm Oil which deeply penetrates your skin to leave it feeling amazing.

You can find derma|e products online at or at your local CVS.

Weekend Inspiration: Stop Waiting

Since it's Friday, I thought this was a great quote to start the weekend. There are so many things we wait on to make us happy, when in reality, we are the ones that decide our happiness. Even though Summer is the favorite season of most, by August we find ourselves yearning for Fall weather. So what's the point? The point is to try, try, try to enjoy something about your day, everyday, no matter how bad it may seem because someone, somewhere is needing the things you take for granted. Enjoy your weekend!

The Beauty Diaries: Tammy Fender

Tammy Fender Hair Care Review

When winter strikes, we tend to mostly worry about our skin, but our hair deserves just as much attention. I recently had the chance to review some hair care products from Tammy Fender. I started off with the Omega Rich Cleansing Creme. It has a very light scent and contains ingredients like rosemary, rose geranium, and horsetail. If you are interesting in trying this, keep in mind that it's a cleansing creme so it will not be super sudsy like other shampoos. This way you know it is keeping the moisture in your hair rather than stripping it away.

After washing my hair, I followed up with the Tammy Fender Omega Rich Moisturizer. It has a slightly stronger, but relaxing, spa-like scent. I let this sit in my hair for five minutes, then I lightly rinsed it out. If you have a dry or itchy scalp, this would be a great hair treatment to try. As mentioned in a previous hair care post, my hair is in a natural state {meaning I don't have a relaxer}, but I like to wear my hair straightened and after seeing the results on my hair, I strongly feel like these products would be fitting for all hair types.

Tammy Fender also has a complete line of holistic skincare products from facial cleansers to body care. To find out more about Tammy Fender Holistic Skincare, visit!

Weekend Inspiration: Fitness

Friday Inspiration: Fitness

A great way to motivate yourself to get fit, is buying some new workout gear. I know we fashion lovers like to say "Shopping is my Cardio", but this look isn't for running errands or a trip to the mall. Make sure you wear them strictly for exercising, that way you'll want to wear them and get moving. So if your hitting the mall this weekend, here is a little bit of inspiration to help you get your butt in gear. Also don't forget to check out Class Pass to help you find new and exciting fitness classes in your city.

And it begins (again)....

Well it's 2015, new chances, new beginnings and a new outlook on everything. Usually, I don't write a list of things I would like to accomplish for the year, but I decided to give it a shot. Some of them are personal goals, some are for the blog and some are just ideas, but we all know that writing them down is the easy part. Now let's take action! I'm looking forward to the challenges of this year, all with the intention of improving oneself. The most important thing to remember is that every day is a new day no matter what year it is. Everyday you wake up is another day to enjoy friends and family, love and laughter. I wish each and everyone of you a good 2015!
