{Dining} Bank & Bourbon

Happy Monday Everyone! Hope you all had a great weekend! On Friday, I went out to celebrate a personal accomplishment with my sisters. We had a late dinner at Bank & Bourbon in Center City. This was my first time there, so I was looking forward to trying a bourbon flight or something, however due to lack of research, we had to make our selections based off a prefixed menu they had in place since it was V-Day weekend. The menu consisted of a four course meal with a complementary glass of champagne for $59, which isn't a bad deal.

They started you off with whipped ricotta and grilled bread for the table. I love that it was made with local honey.

Since a bourbon flight wasn't a choice on the drink menu, I went with my trusty favorite, the Old Fashioned, but theirs is called the Cold Fashioned and it didn't disappoint.

For an appetizer, I had the Tuna Crudo. I have to admit I was a little nervous to try because the menu said it was made with hot chilis, but it wasn't enough to panic over if you're scared if a little spice. One thing my sisters and I loved is that all the plates were different and something that you may have seen in your mothers/grandmother cabinet, giving you the sense that you were back at home.

It's time for the main course, Seared Sixty South Salmon with roasted Napa cabbage, mustard greens, and trout roe butter. The salmon was cooked perfectly with just enough crispiness on the outside. I really enjoyed the roe, which I didn't even catch when I read the menu, but it added to the textures of the dish. For dessert, I opted for the cheesecake with berries over the chocolate cake, which was pretty basic, but still was a nice touch.

Overall, I enjoyed my visit to Bank & Bourbon even tho it was a prefixed menu, I'll just take this as an opportunity to stop by again and try there regular menu another time.
