Philadelphia Fashion Incubator

Tuesday, December 13th was a day for making new changes and that change is in the fashion world of Philadelphia. At Macy's in Center City, a press conference was held to talk about the Philadelphia Fashion Incubator. It is the 1st of its kind and many supporters of the project came out to the event that is in hopes of becoming a resource for the fashion industry. Urban Outfitters is one of the projects main sponsors and other Philadelphia based companies. The goal of the fashion incubator is to bring more and better retail in center city and to become a nurturing environment for fashion businesses. The project took 2 years to complete going back to September 2009 with the focus being towards the city of Philadelphia retail and fashion collection. Mayor Michael Nutter spoke about the project and stated that the city recognizes fashion and wants to invite other businesses to be apart of what Forbes Magazine names the 6th best city for fashion. Lisa Cunns who is the executive producer of the project spoke as well and is determined to make Philadelphia the number one best city for fashion rather than number 6. Fashion exists everywhere and the Philadelphia Fashion Incubator will make fashion become an essential part of our lives.
