ANTM Cycle 20: Move Over Ladies

Every season, Tyra Banks knows how to keep America's Next Top Model fresh and exciting and it's 20th season is no exception. Move over ladies, because this season the guys are taking on the competition too! Eight ladies and gentlemen will be living under the same roof for a chance to win a career-launching prize pack that includes a $100,000 national ad campaign with Guess, a fashion feature in nylon Magazine and a modeling contract with Next Model Management!

All of your favorite judges are back including Kelly Cutrone, who I was able to join on conference call in a Q & A discussion. Surprisingly, Cutrone says the ladies of the house seemed to be more competitive then the guys who were getting "tripped up" by the ladies. This season also offers strong story lines similar to a reality documentary.

When asked, What makes a top model? She said, "You have to photograph well, better than everyone else. Make sure to bring a great personality, but leave the diva attitude at home." When asked if Cutrone would open her own modeling agency, she response with a firm, "No!", but she did give some great advice for aspiring models:
  1. Understand what the job means. most people think it's super easy, that you just walk around in pretty clothes. Do your research and find out what it takes.
  2. Learn to photograph well. Practice your angles, your expressions and of course your smize!
  3. Don't quit your day job. Things aren't going to take off right away. It takes time and dedication to get to the top.
  4. Go to a reputable agency. Leave those mall talent scouts alone. Find a professional agency and present them with natural photographs wearing minimal amounts of makeup, hair pushed back or up wearing a black or white tee. It creates a blank canvas for more possibilities.
I can't wait to check out the new season because we've been given a preview into the women's world of modeling, but not really the men's side. Cutrone is hoping that the show will crush any stereotypes of the male modeling industry and show what a great profession it really is. ANTM will have it's usually interaction from viewers through social media, so make sure to like and follow. Who knows, you might end up on the show!
