MyHeritage DNA Kit + Review

Nothing tells you who you are and where you're come from quite like your DNA. It's amazing what we can discover and learn from it, so when MyHeritage invited me to take a look into my DNA, I was all for it!

Recently my Mom, received her results from an at home DNA test which showed she is 90% African 8% European 1% Native American and less than 1% Asian. My family found this so interesting to learn about our mothers ancestral background, that naturally we wanted to do the same for our Father as well. So instead of using the MyHeritage DNA kit on myself I gifted to my Dad, so he can enjoy the same experience.

The MyHeritage Kit cost $99 and is simple to understand and easy to use. In the box, were clear instructions with diagrams so there's no confusion on how to do the process correctly. The DNA is collected by swabbing the inside of the cheek and collecting the samples in the provided vials. Before sealing up the envelope, I went online to activate my DNA kit with a special code.

Later, I mailed the samples in the envelope provided. I did pay to ship them, but the cost was less then $2. Now we play the waiting game. It takes 4 to 6 weeks to receive the results and everything can be tracked on their website.

I'm really looking forward to getting the results back and exploring my Dad's DNA thanks to MyHeritage! Once the results are in, I'll be sharing them here, so make sure to stay connected! Want to uncover your ethic origins? Order your very own DNA kit on MyHeritage.com!
