I want to take this time out to send a special thank you to a somewhat invisible person of Fashion of Philly, my photographer. Although he is unseen and sometimes unheard, he has a major impact on the site. If you think about it, most fashion sites are about 70% photos 30% text because visual impact is a huge part of blogging. A great picture could make you click on a link or keep it moving and I honestly feel our hits have grown because of those pictures. When you think of taking pictures, you may think of just a simple point and shoot, but it's much more than that. It's about choosing the right angles, catching the right moments, and doing just enough editing to make it perfect. So what I'm trying to say is THANK YOU FOR ALL YOUR HARD WORK!!! To check some of the great pictures of Fashion of Philly go to our Tumblr page.

What a Day!
Hi all! Today was unexpectingly crazy! You know how you have those days where you have everything planned out in your head and then half of those things get thrown out the window? Yea, it was like that! On my way to the mall to look for iPhone cases I caught a nasty flat tire. UGH! After about 5 minutes of asking myself what to do, I decided to try changing the tire myself. And guess what? I did it without googling a how to video or even breaking a nail! YAY ME! I felt so empowered and felt the need to tell everyone, the guy at Pep Boys, my family, some people I met at a networking event later that night... Anyway, I guess now I want to pass on the great news to you. Also if you drive, I suggest you learn how to change a tire because believe it or not several people drove by me and my son (who was in the car watching movies on the iPad) and nobody stopped to say anything. Once I got over the shock of it, I realized maybe it's a good thing no one stopped because then I wouldn't have learned that I can change a tire.
By the time all that was said and done, I hurried home changed and got on my way to a Networking Event hosted by Kate Marlys, the Philly PR Girl at Xfinity Live. It was lots of fun and the rock shrimp appetizer was delis. I also had the chance to meet some of my readers, local designers such as Jannette Rochelle of JRochelle Designs, and follower bloggers. So even though there were some obstacles yesterday, I did just what my pin from pinterest says, "Keep Calm and Sparkle"! Hope everyone has a nice weekend!

A Little Remodeling
I decided to straighten the place up a bit by changing/adding some new pages. You can now check out shops and boutiques around Philadelphia area in the Philly Shops section. Weather it's a grand opening, a favorite spot, or discovering a hidden gem, this page is dedicated to helping you find that perfect place to shop. I also added the Fashion Trends page which is where you'll find the latest and hottest trends happening around the fashion scene or seen locally in the Tri-State area. I'm so excited about the additions and it just makes me wonder why I haven't done this before. Well, I guess that's because there's a time and place for everything and I guess now is that time. I hope you enjoy it as much as I do!
Best Wishes,
Brittiny

Something New Everyday
I've just discovered a new, fun, and addicting way to shop online. Obaz.com is a virtual boutique showcasing the latest undiscovered brands and up-and-coming designers. You can shop from categories such as: jewelry, accessories, bags & purses, home decor, housewares, gifts and organization. When you first go to the site, you're presented with what seems like a shopping game. Merchandise featured on Obaz appears and you are given the option to want, buy, or pass. If you click want, you may find hidden special limited time offers, discounts, and other exclusives for the site. You can also share your wants through social media to spread the word.
Each item has its own shipping standards, returns are fast and free as long as it's within the seller's guidelines. One reason I love shopping on Obaz, is that after you create a free account, you can go back and view all the things you want under its on tab. Another reason, which is also my favorite, is that there is always something new added everyday at great prices. This increases the impulse to buy because what you see today, might not be there tomorrow. Trust me, I learned firsthand. With only a limited number of certain pieces available, I jumped on my first order, which I love, a Glamrock Two Finger Ring from JiCreations, but after another visit to the site I found a Love Rhinestone Bracelet from PinkHeart Accessories that I just had to have. (Don't judge me, I just love accessories!)
If your in the market for something new and unique, why not check out Obaz.com today and see what you can discover!

Think Cozy and Chic this Fall by Anya Sarre
It can be hard to drag
yourself out of bed on a dark fall morning. If you oversleep or are in a hurry,
it's still possible to make yourself look amazing! Since fall fashion isn't
fussy and immaculate. Fall is all about warmth: warm colors, warm clothes, and
most of all, the warmth that overflows from a person who loves and cares about
others. Being open and sharing your life with other people makes you glow in a
way that no clothes or makeup can. So drag yourself out of bed and put on
something awesome. You never know what the day will bring!
An effortless outfit that looks both polished and comfortable is a pair of skinny jeans and an over-sized sweater. A pair of boots or wedges adds sophistication to the look, or comfortable loafers keep it casual. Almost any type of sweater will work: Long cardigans are elegant and easily accessorized, baggy sweaters with a cowl neck are more dramatic, and chunky knit pullovers are the very definition of comfy. Scoop neck sweaters and sweater vests are perfect for layering with a button-up shirt, be it flannel or fancy. Mixing and matching different sweaters and jeans lets you pull together interesting outfits in no time, since the basic formula is so forgiving.
The key to pulling off a simple outfit like jeans and a sweater is by adding terrific accessories. Think about your clothes as a way to highlight some of your favorite pieces. A statement necklace is the perfect complement to a layered cardigan and skinny jeans. Dramatic earrings accentuate unusual necklines. Wear glitzy chandelier earrings with a shawl collar sweater. Brooches are often overlooked, but find an interesting one to pin to a simple sweater and you'll be getting compliments all day.
Colored denim and an over-sized sweater is just one of the many gorgeous styles to wear this fall. Though don't forget: A warm smile on a chilly day does more to make a woman look beautiful than any fabulous outfit can. Work your outfit from the ground up with the perfect pair of shoes and strut your stuff this fall season. Be your confident, vibrant self, and try to make other people feel as terrific as you do and you'll be turning heads wherever you go.

Breast Cancer Awareness Day 12
My apologies. Yesterday was crazy for me from beginning to end. My son has a dentist appointment first thing in the morning, after that, a trip to Target, then I made my way to the King of Prussia mall to meet jewelry designer Costis at Neiman Marcus (His collections are incredible, btw, you must stop by and check them out!). After ohhing and ahhing at beautiful jewels, I started running around pulling items for a client I'm doing some personal shopping for! So unfortunately, I didn't have time to post the Breast Cancer Awareness Item of the Day so I owe you one.
Today's item is the Limited Edition Deux Lux for Everything but Water smartphone wristlet. It's perfect for carrying around all your essentials like your smartphone, credit cards, bills, coins and keys. 25% of the proceeds go to the Living Beyond Breast Cancer organization, committed to helping women affected by breast cancer and providing free education and support to women affected by breast cancer and their families.
