It's Earth Day

To celebrate Earth Day, Free People launched the Let the Wildflowers Grow initiative, giving out free packs of wildflower seeds with every purchase (while supplies last). Their mission is to have customers plant them in a place they'd like to see more beautiful. Shoppers are then encouraged to submit pictures of their seed's progress as they grow, to be posted on Free People's BLDG 25 blog. For more info check out their facebook page or their blog site.

New Stores are Popping Up at KOP

Five new retailers are coming to the King of Prussia Mall by Summer 2012. The list includes specialty beauty and lifestyle retailer Aveda, luxury Swiss watch maker Tag Heuer, French leather goods company Longchamp (Open Now), Omega Watches and men's and women's lifestyle brand Tommy Bahama. I actually visited Longchamp last week and absolutely loved the Longchamp x Jeremy Scott Greetings from Paradise bag, perfect for that summer weekend getaway. These new stores are only the beginning of a expansion happening over the next couple years. So stay posted to the King of Prussia's Mall website and Fashion of Philly.

Sneak Peek at Fashion Now King of Prussia

On Thursday, April 12, Fashion of Philly and other bloggers were invited on a Sip-n-Stroll. We got a sneak peek at the lastest trends retailers were offering for the Fashion Now event on April 20 & 21. The first stop was Bloomingdale's where they showed off the latest in neons, summer whites, and color blocking. Our favorite item was the green and blue neon bags from The Cambridge Satchel Company selling for under $100. We also got the first glimpse of the Beauty Event catalog that will be running April 19 - 29 and the beauty collection by Chanel.

From there we stopped by Touche Accessories located on the Upper Level of the Court. Touche Accessories is a quint boutique where you can find unique jewelry and accessories all manufactuered in Europe. When you walk into the shop it's like being transported to a boutique in the South of France. Touche is owned and operated by a mother and daughter team with years of experience. It's evident that they're very passionate about their business and have a way of making you feel welcome.

We then walked to the Plaza to stop at the fresh and hip Love Culture. Love Culture is a one stop shop to find everything you need for that perfect outfit, whether for the weekend or everyday. Not only do they have cute clothes, but they also offer tons of jewelry and shoes you'll fall head over heels for. Nothing in the store is priced over $40 which makes it easy to find a trendy outfit without breaking your wallet. Each section or room in the store is divided into themes, for example Up All Night is full of neon and party dress, while Lazy Days is home to finding something comfortable for a chill day. Love Culture is definately a must see store.

The next two stores can be described in one word "Sparkle" ('cause I refuse to use the word "Bling" in 2012). Bailey, Banks & Biddle introduced us to their very own high tech design studio. Here you can sit in an intimate setting and customize the ring of your dreams by choosing whatever setting and stone your heart (or wallet) desires. From there, we visited Tiffany's & Co. to view their new Rubedo Collection available in 19 styles priced from $200 to $8000. The Rubedo Collection marks Tiffany's 175th annverisary and is a blend of silver, cooper and gold metals. The Rubedo metal is the first of it's kind for Tiffany's and only for the year of 2012, each piece of the collection is inscribed with the Tiffany's signature.

From Tiffany's we strolled on over to the fun and quirky designs of Betsey Johnson. The Spring 2012 Collection is inspired by Brigitte Bardot and Burlesque dancers of the 1940's with silk flirty pieces, vibrant patterns, and peak-a-boo surprises. While snacking on some delicious red velvet cupcakes, we got to check out the looks for the runway show this Friday. I especially loved the mix of vintage appeal with a modern edge. Our last stop was Piazza Sempione, an Italian brand, celebrating 20 years making tailored clothes for the traveling women. All their pieces are manufactuered in Milan with a new collection released every 3 months. The shop also offers VIP services like dry cleaning, tailoring and personal shopping by appointments. Over the years, Piazza Sempione has become most famous for the "Audrey" pant designed after the iconic Audrey Hepburn, available all year long in different fabrics and colors.

I had a great time at the Sip-n-Stroll, meeting with the other bloggers and getting a sneak peek at some of the looks behind the Fashion Now Event. Make sure you come out both days to enjoy all the festivities as there will be much more to see. For more information check out KingofPrussiaMall.com. We hope to see you there!

Trend: Body Chains

Beyonce (beyonce.tumblr.com), Top Right: LuvAJ.com, Bottom: Emma Roberts

The body chain trend has been buzzing since last summer with the multiple pictures of Rihanna chilling on vaca in her Jacquie Aiche body chain, which runs for $2,315. Recently, I decided to purchase one for myself, and no mine did not cost that much, it only ran me about $10 from Love Culture.  I love the idea of the body chain because it seems like an easy to add some sparkle to a plain outfit. You can wear it by itself or with layer on necklaces to give it more of a dramatic look. I'm now experimenting different ways to style it without having to be in a bikini as the weather is not there yet, so I Google'd a few pics for inspiration. Be on the lookout for a future style post on my take of how to style a body chain.

Model Carissa Rosario Launches New Fragrance

Model Carissa Rosario hosted a event last Thursday at the Yotel Hotel in New York to celebrate the launch of her new fragrance with designer Christopher Joseph, Young and Fresh. Celebrities Brandon Bing from the New York Giants, Jennifer Williams of Basketball Wives and Erica Mena were among the few that came out to support and get a first whiff of the new scent along with dancing and cocktails. The fragrance captivates a delicate blend of rose petals and grapefruit and Carissa describes it as alive, romantic, chic, sexy and loving. Young and Fresh is now available throughout LA or on carissarosario.com.

Miss you

Hi everyone. Lately I been going through a lot of changes and it's taken me some time, but now I'm settled in. I've got a new place, new toy (IPad) and a new job as an assistant manager at a store called Love Culture. Love Culture is a very trendy, fashion forward store similar to Forever21 and is pretty new to the northeast region, especially the Philadelphia tri-state area. It's located in the King of Prussia Mall so definitely stop in and say Hi! As far as the blogging goes, my wonderful photographer, Shariff is still taking great pictures and I also have a new assistant, Natalia, who is awesome and will help get Fashion of Philly to higher places. We're talking events, more videos, and more style shoots and now there are more ways to keep up with what's going on with Fashion of Philly by following via Instagram, Pose, Tumblr, Facebook and Twitter, all under the username Fashion of Philly. So look us up and start following!
